We’re a diverse bunch at Improved Apps and we enjoy sharing a story or two… our news… and views… over a cup of coffee or around the water cooler (and an occasional beer!)

So, we thought why not share a few of our newly discovered noteworthy news stories, fascinating facts, helpful hints, as well as the things that have made us smile or simply laugh out loud.

As our apps support the entire gamut of Salesforce users from sys admins to sales reps; from marketing managers to business analysts and from trainers to support staff, (and bearing in mind we’re all human), we hope that there is something of interest to everyone.

Shopping Tips for the Salesforce AppExchange

Here’s a blog from admin.salesforce.com that will help Salesforce admins surf the Salesforce AppExchange to find that perfect app. Here’s a snippet:

With over 3100 apps and 423 components on the Salesforce AppExchange (and growing) a Salesforce Admin can feel overwhelmed very easy. So like any savvy shopper, we need to get prepared for our adventure so we can deliver the most functionality, and most importantly the best app for our buck. But with all of these choices it’s hard to know where to start. Not a problem, let’s dive into this together and I’ll give you my tips for finding what you need, and be happy doing it. [read more]

If you’re in the market for a Salesforce app, here are some other things we think you should bear in mind when researching and purchasing on the AppExchange:

  • Make sure the provider is a CERTIFIED SALESFORCE PARTNER, like WE ARE
  • Ensure their solutions are public on the AppExchange and that they have PASSED the rigorous SECURITY REVIEW process. This is certainly something to seriously consider whilst comparing apps as it shows that the company has really invested in doing things right. Not all providers will have had to jump through so many hoops with their solutions!
  • Finally, ensure the app of interest has ‘Aloha’ status, because this way, the solution WILL NOT impact on your Salesforce Org limits – which is another huge plus for you as the buyer/customer.

Certified…Passed Security Review… and Aloha status…all these mean you are dealing with a company that can support you effectively.

Mapping the customer journey to deliver satisfaction

Whether your customer is literally taking a journey or a metaphorical journey from need to satisfaction, it is vital to make sure that the experience is one that delivers against their expectations (and beyond!) and is one they would wish to repeat and recommend to others.

In this article read how they’re mapping the customer journey at Heathrow to help them deliver the best experience possible – and why it’s all about emotion, not process….

Heathrow is Europe’s busiest airport, with more than 75 million passengers using the hub to travel to and from hundreds of destinations each year.

Managing this experience for each individual customer can be challenge, particularly as Heathrow as an ‘experience’ means working with a number of retail outlets, restaurants, transport providers and airlines.

Each customer is likely to come into contact with a number of these organisations throughout their customer journey.

However, this hasn’t put off Heathrow’s digital content manager Benito De Rosa from giving it a go, who is using Adobe’s Marketing Cloud to map the customer journey and create a positive ‘emotional experience’ for passengers. [read more]
