We are currently underway in deploying Improved Apps in our org of 2,500+ users globally, and the service given to us by the Improved Apps Team is phenomenal.  I’m based in the US and the team is in the UK, but I’d never know it because when I have a question, Simon has an answer.  This isn’t a fluke either as I’ve been in contact with Peter and Simon over the course of a year, and without fail, they are there whenever I need them.

Our company operates in a single instance of Salesforce, there are a huge amount of customizations, and no process enablement knowledge readily available for users.  Improved Apps – Improved Help and Improved NoticeBoard – will be a game changer for communicating important messages and releases (via NoticeBoard), as well as putting the WOWs, company terminology and definitions, and toolkits in the hands of each and every user at the moment in which they need it.

Last year was certainly busy on the Improved Apps factory floor!  Our development team really enjoyed talking with our Customers and Prospects to shape the direction of our three major product releases of 2014.

 

Among the features we provision to our growing customer-base:

Custom styling enhancements

You can now alert the user to specific embedded help and highlight it by using the data-driven filters and custom styles.  It grabs people’s attention encouraging action, when all they did is look at a record!  A great example is highlighting a helped field to show that the embedded help has been updated.

More places to embed help and updated templates

You can now embed help and training to the Salesforce record titles and the global Salesforce ‘help and training’ link.  We also packaged additional Topic templates to offer a broader range of presentation formats.

A key strategy for Improved Apps in 2014 was to become even more customer-focused. Let’s face it, if you don’t listen to customers or prospects, you’re not going to understand their needs, and if you can’t empathise with their problems or appreciate their unique requirements how can you offer them the best solution?

 

So part of our training strategy for the latter part of 2014 and into 2015 has been to invest in training to develop and hone the active listening skills of our Improved Apps team – it’s been pushed out across the board, so that we generate a genuine rapport based on an honest and humanistic approach.  Active listening and engaging with our customers we know helps ensure they gain the most from our solutions, and is fundamental to achieving total ‘Customer Success’.

Well, where to start with my reflections on the last twelve months?  Should it be the 300% growth we have experienced in sales? The trebling of the Inside Sales Team to capture that growth?  The wild success of Dreamforce and the pipeline it generated?

 

All of these, point to a great year indeed.  When I look at our customer list, which now includes such great names like the Financial Conduct Authority, Johnson & Johnson, Cray Inc, and Kerry, it validates the vision we have as a management team, to become the De Facto Standard for help, within Salesforce.

We’re immensely proud of our client-base, and we’re delighted that many new customers have begun reaping the benefits of Improved Apps in 2014. They hail from a variety of industries, all shapes and sizes – including global corporations, niche organisations, project teams and not-for-profits, and include some household names, some of which we just can’t talk about because we’re under NDA…But they know who they are!

 

This amazing interest in our solutions has meant that our 2014 financial year closed more than 300% up on the previous year – and our 2015 financial year-end is shaping-up nicely.
